Marilyn,
Here's the dialogue writing exercise:
It was first taught to me by Eduardo Machado.
Relax your body and take three deep breaths.
What do you feel?
Where is the feeling located in your body?
Your neck, chest etc.
Breathe
What character in your screenplay feels this feeling?
Give it to them.
Breathe the feeling into that character.
Now, let another character, who doesn't want to understand them walk into the room.
Write the scene.
all the best,
Lori Fischer
